PAINTED OAK RIDGE CARROLL, IA

The Kunekune (pronounced cooneycooney) is a small breed of domestic pig from New Zealand.
They come in a wide variety of colors and are suitable for the novice pig owner since they are extremely laid back, friendly, and love human company.  Average size for a full grown kunekune can be 100-300 pounds and around 24" tall.
Kunekune pigs are great for acreage owners, fattening on pasture grasses.  Ours are fed alfalfa (winter) or pasture grass (summer) along with Purina Nature's Match Sow & Pig Feed to balance their diet.

Whakanui (Tarutaru) Boar "Hedwig"
DOB: 3/31/18

Hedwig joined our herd from Kunekune Preserve in NC.  We are thrilled to be adding some new genetics to our herd - we loved the look of this little boar and after talking with Cyndi, we decided he should come and live in Iowa.  Look at his gorgeous topline!

This is an updated picture of Hedwig - he has filled out nicely and was a solid 117# at a year old.  He is a gorgeous boar and he has such a sweet temperament.  We didn't get a very good picture of his topline while my daughter was tempting him with food to get a good side profile picture but I'm so impressed with this boar.

Rebecca Gina (Mahia Love) Gilt "Holly"
DOB: 3/24/18

We purchased Holly from Dayhen Kunekune Farm in central Iowa. We are beyond excited to add a girl of this substance to our herd. She has a beautiful head and her structure is amazing. We added her for her rate of growth and she has absolutely the best personality - she waits patiently and quietly for her food and she is a cuddler even at over 200#!

Rona (Boris) Sow "Mika"
DOB: 2/3/19

Mika came to us from Mkono Farm in Maryland via the Heartland Kunekune Show. Look at her gorgeous topline and solid structure. She has a nice growth rate and sweet personality - we love her so much.
Mika was a wonderful mother to her first litter and we absolutely adore her. We can't wait to see her babies in 2021.
