This is our growing herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats - all are registered with ADGA. Our goats are well cared for and usually spoiled! We love our goats and continue to add to our herd as our children are getting older and showing them in 4-H. Kidding season is our favorite time of year although quite stressful with many walks to and from the barn to see how everyone is doing, especially when we have first fresheners getting ready to kid. We added barn cameras in 2018 so I could keep an eye on everyone from work!
All of our goats tested CAE negative on 2/7/19!
Ginger (Tammy) DOB: 3/19/13 Doe Blue Eyes Disbudded
Ginger (papered name is Tammy) is our herd queen. She's not afraid to take on our family dogs so we don't have a fear of coyotes - I'm sure she'd take them on if she had to! When it comes to people, she's the first one to walk up for a good petting. Ginger always has big strong babies and her milk production is fantastic.
Dottie DOB: 3/24/13 Doe Blue Eyes Disbudded
Dottie is Ginger's buddy. We purchased them together as yearlings and they bonded right from the start. When she came to our farm we couldn't touch her, now she loves everyone who visits and likes to taste everyone's clothes! We kept some of Dottie's babies and also some of her grand babies.
Elsa DOB: 2/3/14 Doe Blue Eyes Polled
Elsa came to us with a wether who passed away when he was about a year old. She has been super friendly since we got her and she quickly bonded with Anna. Elsa lost a set of quads during birth in 2018 but quickly started feeding some of the other babies since she was missing her own. Elsa has a piece of my heart and has always been a quiet, friendly little goat. Tulip (below) is a daughter of Elsa and has inherited Elsa's personality.
Anna DOB: 8/12/14 Doe Brown Eyes Disbudded
Anna was the first goat kid born on our farm - she was a single doeling and melted our heart with her sweet personality. We just couldn't sell her so she's helped our herd grow. She's had quads the last 3 years and raised them all on her own with her stellar milk production.
Diamond DOB: 3/30/15 Doe Blue Eyes Disbudded
Diamond and Sapphire are twins out of Dottie. Diamond is a tri-color and has a sweet personality like her dam. Diamond is an excellent mother and her milk production is excellent for her smaller size!
Sapphire DOB: 3/30/15 Doe Blue Eyes Disbudded
Sapphire is also a tri-color with less defining markings. She's the quieter of the twins and a little shy. Sapphire has given us triplets her last 2 kiddings and her milk production is also excellent for her smaller size!
Tulip DOB: 3/28/16 Doe Blue Eyes Polled
Tulip is one of our daughter's 4-H goats. She won Reserve Grand Champion dairy goat in 2017 and Grand Champion in 2018 at our county fair. She was an excellent first freshener and we were very impressed with her udder. Tulip still thinks she fits in our laps!!
Fancy DOB: 4/4/16 Doe Blue Eyes Disbudded
Fancy is our daughter's other 4-H goat. She won Grand Champion dairy goat in 2017 at our county fair and was an excellent first time mom to triplets. Her first freshener udder was not as impressive as Tulip's but her 2nd freshener udder did not disappoint!
Clover DOB: 8/31/17 Doe Blue Eyes Polled
Clover is our son's 4-H goat. She won 3rd place in her class at our 2018 county fair as a 10 month old against older dairy goats. She has great length of body and a very dairy build. She is very friendly and we can't wait to see what she does as a first freshener in spring of 2020.
Nellie DOB: 2/25/18 Doe Brown Eyes Disbudded
We purchased Nellie from another breeder as a 2nd 4-H goat for our son and also to bring in some new genetics to our herd. Nellie is a beautiful tri-color who loves to be around people. She'll be a first freshener in spring of 2020.
Starbuck DOB: 1/13/18 Buckling Blue Eyes Polled Starbuck has beautiful swiss markings, random white, and gorgeous moonspots! He'll be a replacement for one of our older bucks when he gets big enough. Can't wait to see what his babies will look like!
Thunder DOB: 5/23/18 Buckling Blue Eyes Polled We got Thunder as a bottle baby and he's still pretty small so we'll have to wait a bit before we see what his babies will look like. He's a gorgeous and friendly little buck!
Captain DOB: 4/15/16 Buck Blue Eyes Polled We recently added Captain to our herd - look at his beautiful white band, tri-colored coat, and his gorgeous eyes! My husband fell in love with him so we decided to purchase him for 2018 fall breeding. Captain has produced some beautiful babies - and lots of them!!! Captain has been sold.
Barney DOB: 10/10/15 Buck Blue Eyes Polled
This buck has been a character since we got him. He's always wondering what we're doing - he's very outgoing and enjoys attention. Barney has been sold.
Checkers DOB: 3/28/16 Buck Brown Eyes Polled
This buck is beautiful and has given us some gorgeous babies. I don't think he was socialized much as a youngster as he will eat from our hand but won't let us pet him.
